He submitted to an emergency operation Wednesday before his death, Nov. 11, but this did not bring him the desired relief. He was given the benefit of the best aid that medical skill could offer but his illness was of a nature that could not be cured and death resulted three days after the operation.

Funeral services were held in the Northwood Lutheran Church on Monday afternoon and were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. W. Yivisaker. Burail was made in Sunset Rest cemetery.

His health failed him during the past year but prior to that period he had been active and had been a familiar and welcome figure on the streets and in the business places of Northwood.
