Funeral Held at
Kensett Church

Funeral services for Gilman E. Butler, 82, who died August 25 at the Northwood Retirement Home, were held August 29 at the Bethany Lutheran church in Kensett with the Rev. Harry Peterson officiating.

Gilman E. Butler was born Sept. 12, 1900 in rural Kensett, the son of Lewis and Anna (Jenson) Butler. He married Jennie Stromley on December 14, 1932 in Lyle. He lived in the Northwood-Kensett area, attended school and farmed in that area all of his life. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran church, Kensett, farm organizations, and at the time of country schools, served on the school board for several years.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Jennie, also a resident at the Northwood Retirement Home; three sons: Luane, Carroll and Glenn, all of Northwood; and four sisters, Sally Latzvell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Owen (Luella) Tols and Bernice Styve, both of Forest Park, Ill., and by Mrs. Claire (Agnes) Knox of Naples, Fla.; also by eight grandchildren.

Burial was in the South Shell Rock cemetery, rural Northwood, with Rev. Peterson in charge of the committal services.
