Silas Sivill Purgett, 1901-1981, obituary. Silas was the adopted son of Charles A. and Eva Jane (Sivill) Purgett of Iroquois County IL. His birth parents were William G. and Alice Smith Siville. He was the youngest child born to them in Champaign Co., IL. By the 1910 census, William G. Sivill moved the family to Iroquois County, perhaps due to Alice's illness, as she is not found to be living with the family in or after the 1910 census. Silas is named after Silas Smith, 1823-1906, who was Alice Smith Siville's father. Alice Siville, 1872-1923, is buried at South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, IL.
