Evelyn Lucille Putzier Livermore Fisher, daughter of Elvin and Maymie Putzier, was born May 10, 1929, in Cushing, Iowa.

She departed this life Dec. 4, 2024, in the home of her daughter, Leila Rehbein, in Valentine, Nebraska, at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Anthon, Iowa. Rev. Marty Davis and Rev. Andrew Utecht officiated. Committal Services followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Anthon, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons in honor of Evelyn’s memory.

Evelyn graduated from Anthon High School in 1946. She married that handsome sailor, James Lewis Livermore, on June 25, 1946. To this union 3 three children were born: Ronald, Lois and Leila. Jim and Evelyn enjoyed 51 years of marriage until his passing from cancer on September 5, 1997.

Evelyn and Jim lived in many places due to his career. They enjoyed living in Newport News, VA; Sioux City, IA; Glasgow, MT; Sunset, UT; Naval Air Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; US Military Academy, West Point, NY; Okinawa, Japan; Barstow, CA; then finally retiring on a farm in Lynchburg, MO. Evelyn retired as Chief Telephone Operator in Barstow, CA.

Evelyn’s first love was her Savior Jesus Christ, whom she served tirelessly, until being called home by Him. She was baptized on July 28, 1929. and confirmed June 10, 1945, in the Lutheran Church. She served in the Lutheran Church in every place she lived with her favorite position being Sunday School teacher of young children. Family was extremely important to her. She worked hard to ensure her children were well cared for, helping to provide not only their needs, but often their wants. She was a foster mom and approximately 100 children passed through her home. She gave them love, a warm, clean home, and good nutritious meals, along with teaching them about the love of Jesus. She was also active in the community serving as school room mother, Brownie, Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, 4-H treasurer, and served on the Farm Service Agency in Hartville, Missouri.

Evelyn wed her neighbor and friend, Robert Lawrence Fisher, on May 15, 2005. They were blessed with 4 1/2 years of a happy, loving marriage until his passing from cancer on January 7, 2010. Reading the Bible and praying daily were a priority. Dominos, cards, and antique shows were always fun.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husbands James Livermore and Robert Fisher, son Ronald Livermore, and granddaughter Bethany Rehbein.

She is survived by daughters Lois (Rod) Everage of Lynchburg, Missouri and Leila (David) Rehbein of Valentine, Nebraska; Grandchildren Slade, Tamanique, Nicholas, Michelle, Jenifer, Christopher, Matthew, Timothy, Stephanie, Jessica and Jacob; 24 Great-Grandchildren, and a Great-Great-Grandson due in April.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a caring Christian neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion to family and kindness to others. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
