Martin Alan Bennett

November 21, 1957 - October 12, 2024

Martin Alan Bennett passed away on October 12, 2024, at the age of 66 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born November 21, 1957, in Sioux City, IA to Maurice and Barbara Bennett. He graduated from West High School in Sioux City in 1975. In 2004 He moved to Kansas to care for his aging parents.

Marty was a skilled baseball player and played from little league through high school and then continued playing slow pitch softball as an adult. He also loved to fish. He spent many evenings cat fishing with friends on the Missouri River.

After graduating high school, he worked for Gerkin Windows and GenPro. After moving to Kansas, he worked for USD 291 and then for various warehouses as his parent's health allowed. He also served on the board of directors for Health Partnership Clinic. Marty was a gifted salesman and a respected supervisor who always looked out for his employees.

In 1986 his life was forever changed with the birth of his daughter, Brittney. She was the light of his life and he loved her dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include daughter, Brittney Adams (Lee), grandchildren, Aubrey and Wesley, brother Randy (Judy), sister Amanda Keller (David), and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank his special friend, Alice, who became like his second mom during his cancer fight.

There will be a private family memorial.
