Janette L. Linden, 82 of North Sioux City, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with a vigil at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Janette was born the daughter of Francis and Ethel (Tiller) Woestman on April 3, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School in 1960. Janette married Bayne G. Linden on April 15, 1961 in Sioux City, Iowa. They built a new home and moved to McCook Lake in 1971 where they lived for 48 years .
Janette worked for the Siouxland Senior Center for 11 years. She also did a lot of volunteer work in the community.
Janette enjoyed bowling, square dancing, bike riding, and camping. She was an avid golfer and played women's league at Sun Valley for many years. She even had a hole in one. She was also very active in the McCook Lake Izaac Walton League. She hosted a fabulous 4th of July party every year at the lake for many friends and family. She truly enjoyed living at the lake, boating, swimming and ice skating with her children and grandchildren.
Janette is survived by her husband, Bayne Linden of North Sioux City, SD; 4 children, Dan (Juany) Linden of Albuquerque, NM, Carrie (Gary) Hoyne of Powder Springs, GA, Steve (Michelle) Linden of McCook Lake, SD, and Keith (Emily) Linden of McCook Lake, SD; sister, Evelyn Dymkowski; 16 grandchildren, Brittany (Corey), Steven II (Stephanie), Alex, Ben, Andrew, Kaeloni, Shelby, Leo, Conor, Chloe, Henry, Freddie, Izzy, Lucy, Abby, and Cale; and 4 great-grandchildren, Maddi, Brooklyn, Jack, and Trey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances; and brothers-in-law, James and Eugene.
