Jeff G. Peiffer, a dedicated teacher, professor, and loving family man, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Sioux City, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 29, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 A.M. until Mass time. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Born on November 18, 1956, in Washington, IA, the son of Lloyd and Virginia (Argo) Peiffer, Jeff's life journey was marked by his passion for education and unwavering love for his family. Jeff grew up in Sigourney, IA and started his early child education in Sigourney, and he graduated from high school in 1975 from Wayne Community school in Corydon, IA. He also spent his youth in Wayne County, IA. Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of History degree through Northwest Missouri State and his Master's degree through Wayne State College.

Jeff's career in education was extensive and impactful. He moved to Sioux City in 1983 and began his career in teaching and coaching. He started at West high as the varsity football coach and ended his coaching career as the head wrestling coach at West high in 1996. He also shared his knowledge and wisdom with students at Hoover Middle, North High School, as well being a professor at Northeast Community College, WITCC and various online schools. Jeff had a passion for education and coaching high school athletes and his commitment to shaping young minds left a lasting impression on all those he taught and coached. Jeff taught in the Sioux City area for over 40 years. He also owned and operated JP Home Inspection Business as a Certified Master Inspector.

Jeff was a member of Deer Run Golf Course in Hinton, participating in men's golf league since it's opening. He was also a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

Jeff found joy in simple pleasures - his dogs, golfing adventures, and of course, spending quality time with his beloved family.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his wife Julie Peiffer of Hinton; mother: Virginia Peiffer of Ankeny, IA; children: Joe Swanson of Akron, IA, Teddy Swanson of Clarksville, TN, and Shannon (Brett) Newberg of Merrill, IA; grandchildren: Taylor Swanson (Pat Menke), Jack Swanson, Olivia Swanson, Hunter Swanson, Cameron Newberg, Hayden Swanson, Sawyer Newberg, Elsie Newberg, and Greyson Swanson. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Peiffer, Steve Peiffer, Cindy (Mark) View, Mark (Teresa) Peiffer, and Joel (Stacey) Peiffer; numerous nieces and nephews; along with the beloved Blair Family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Peiffer; parents-in-law: Clair and Florence Blair; and a nephew Shawn Michael Blair.
