Services Set for Victim of Auto Crash

Funeral services for Mrs. Raymond Weber, 42, of Danbury, killed when her car crashed head-on into a milk truck east of Danbury Thursday morning, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. Rev. Richard V. Sweeney will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Two of Mrs. Weber's five children, injured in the same accident, remained in "fair" condition at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Friday after undergoing surgery Thursday. They are Jane, 16, and Dennis, 11. Jane's injuries were the more serious.

Mrs. Weber, a parttime teacher, was driving her children and three children of a neighbor, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nielsen, to school at Danbury when the accident occurred. The Nielsen children received only minor injuries and were not hospitalized.

The driver of the truck, Edward J. Anderson Jr. of Odebolt, Iowa, was not injured. The accident was investigated by Deputy Woodbury County Sheriff Jerry Phelps and Highway Patrolmen Richard Pedersen and Pete Baker.

Mrs. Weber, the former Rita C. Schoenherr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schoenherr, was born July 14, 1922, at Mapleton. She attended St. Mary's Grade School at Mapleton and was graduated from Mapleton High School after which she attended Westmar College at LeMars, Iowa. She taught rural school in Mapleton, Danbury and Anthon areas and was a substitute teacher for St. Mary's School at Danbury.

She was married May 28, 1945, at Mapleton to Raymond Weber. They resided on a farm west of Danbury. She was a member of St. Mary's Church at Danbury, a past president of Rosary Society and parish representative of the DCCW.

Survivors besides the widower are two daughters, Jane and Mary Kay, both at home; three sons, John in the army at Fort Jackson, S. C, Dennis and Joey, both at home; two brothers, Paul Schoenherr of Mapleton and Alvy Schoenherr of Glidden, Iowa, and seven sisters, Miss Theresa Schoenherr at Turin, Iowa, Sister M. Cosiela, OSF, of Odebolt, Iowa, Sister M. Baptista of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Walter Hageman of Charter Oak, Iowa, Mrs. Paul Schone and Mrs. Paul Dietz, both of Des Moines, and Mrs. Joseph Flanigan of Mapleton.
