Miss Katherine M. Lacey, 85, of 1915 Jones died Saturday morning at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 15, 1884, at Nevada, Iowa. She graduated from Mount St. Mary's High School, in Cherokee, Iowa, and taught schools in Iowa and Nebraska.

In 1919, she graduated from City Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo., and did private duty nursing in Sioux City for one year.

For 15 years she was instructor and educational director of the St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. She received her BA degree in nursing in 1937 from College of St. Theresa, Winona, Minn. She was then employed at the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort Dodge, Iowa, as instructor and educational director until her retirement in 1957.

She was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany, American Nurse's Association, Iowa State Association of Registered Nurses, committee on Nursing Education, National League of Nursing Education and the Red Cross Nursing Service.

She was chairman of the Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service, Sioux City District, for nine years and had been president of the District Association of Registered Nurses for two terns.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. James (Helen) McMurrer of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Werner (Eva) Weinert of Miami Lakes, Fla.

The body was taken to the Perasso Bros. Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Miss Katherine M. Lacey, 84, 1915 Jones St. will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of the Epiphany. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. W. B. Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Danbury, under the direction of Perasso Bros. Funeral Home of Sioux City.

The Rosary will be recited at 8 clock tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers, all nephews, will be Robert, Duane, Garth and Giles Lacey, Herman Sohn and John Crawford.

Miss Lacey died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
