11 August 1992DANBURY, Iowa -- Anne Lena Kennaley, 94, of Danbury died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1992, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Danbury with the Rev. James Tigges officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home of Ida Grove is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kennaley was born April 27, 1898, in Washta, the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Meier) Schimmer. She moved to Danbury from Washta at age 2. She married T.E. Kennaley Jan. 28, 1919, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Danbury. The couple farmed in the Battle Creek and Danbury areas and operated a family owned dairy until retiring in 1950. Mr. Kennaley died May 30, 1960.
She entered Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek Oct. 25,1990. Mrs. Kennaley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Rosary Society.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Evonne and Fred Grell and Shirley and Merle Wright, all of Danbury, and Laura and Ron Jones of Kansas City, two sons, Pat of Rockford, 111., and Bob and his wife, Evelyn of Moorpark, 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; and eight brothers.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Guy, Ned and Adam Wright, Tom, Jerry and James Grell, and Mike and Jay Jones.
