1 September 1991DANBURY, Iowa-- Mary A. Kane, 85, of rural Danbury, died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Danbury, with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with a Rosary Society rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. There will be further visitation from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church.
Miss Kane was born Dec. 27, 1905, on the family farm near Danbury, the daughter of John and Eloise (Harrigan) Kane. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy, Danbury, in 1924, and from the Wayne (Neb.) Teacher's College, magna cum laude. She taught school at Whiting, Smithland and Salix, and had lived most of her life on the family farm.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.
Survivors include two brothers, Joseph of Danbury and Thomas of Whittier, Calif., and two sisters, Margaret Kane and Eloise Kane, both of Danbury.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John, and two sisters, Anna and Alice.
