Gerald V. "Jake" Jerman, 58, 1413 S Nicollet St., owner and operator of Jake's Barber Shop, died Thursday morning at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rt, Rev. Msgr. Frank J. Brady will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon under direction of the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Morningside

Pallbearers will be Bill James, Bill Abker, Clarence Goodman, Wayne Carter, Leo Dixon and Dan Fitzpatrick.

Mr. Jerman was born Oct. 20, 1913, at Anthon. He married Orpha Larsen June 4, 1940, at Anthon. He had been a resident of Sioux City since 1960 and owned and operated his barbershop for about the last 11 years.

Mr. Jerman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Barbers Union.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Roger of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Raymond of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters Mrs. Beulah McDermott of Mapleton, Iowa and Mrs. Lucille White of Sioux City, and a grandson.
