ANTHON, Iowa-- Elvin A. Hoelker, 77, formerly of Anthon, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1992, at a Harlingen, Texas, hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with the Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Anthon. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Hoelker was born May 22, 1915, near Correctionville. He married Faye Smith June 5, 1939, in Salix. The couple farmed in the Midway area prior to moving to a farm at Correctionville in 1952. In 1957 they moved to Cedar Rapids where he worked as a custodial engineer for the Cedar Rapids Community School. They retired in 1977 and moved to Harlingen.

Mr. Hoelker was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, George and Marcia of El Toro, Calif., and Dennis and Teresa of Cedar Rapids; a daughter and her husband, Kathryn and Ronald Edwards of Parker, Colo.; a sister and her husband, Josephine and Thorvald Jensen of Madrid; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
