Bessie Blanche Heath, 78, of Anthon died Wednesday night, August 14, 1985, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. J.G. Skahill officiating.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Jeff, Frank and Gene Collins, Brian Heath, Michael Berning and Rick Arnold. Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Walter Funeral Service.

Mrs. Heath, the former Bessie Ping, was born March 21, 1907, to Chester and Mae (Ulrich) Ping in Thurston Co., Nebraska. She married Ralph Heath October 7, 1925, in Salix. He died July 22, 1975. The couple farmed until 1965 when they retired to Correctionville and lived there until 1968. They then moved to Anthon. In 1980 Mrs. Heath moved to Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley.

Survivors include seven sons, Kenneth of Duncanville, Texas, John of Phoenix, Arizona, Richard of Anthon, Donald of Arroyo Grande, California, Ronnie of Long Beach, California, Dennis of Grover City, California, and Francis of Santa Anna, California, five daughters, Mrs. Lilabelle Wynn of Iowa Park, Texas, Mrs. Donnie (Norma) Hoffman of White Lake, South Dakota, Mrs. Jay (Ann) Arnold of Pierson, Mrs. Bill (Delores) Collins of Kingsley, and Mrs. Syd (Darlene) Coulas of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, two brothers, Cleo Ping of Sloan and Floyd Ping of Sioux City, 51 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
