The community was shocked Wednesday morning of last week by the sudden death of Simon Hawn. Mr. Hawn had been in his usual health Monday and Tuesday and had worked in the door yard. When Mrs. Hawn went to call him for breakfast Wednesday morning she found him dead in bed. Heart trouble caused his death.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, 9 children, 6 daughters and 3 sons, and a wide circle of friends. The community's sympathy is extended to the family and relatives in this sad bereavement.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. P. Hausman were held at St. Mary's church Saturday morning. Burial was at Anthon.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Hudgel's Funeral Home of Anthon.
