Bonnie R. Brown, 97, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at the Sunrise Retirement Community following a brief illness.

Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday with a Rosary Service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Bonnie was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Jackson, Neb.; she was the daughter of Harry and Rose (Mackey) Reed. Bonnie graduated from St. Catherine's Academy in 1943 and received her teacher's certificate from Wayne State College.

While working at Sears, Bonnie met Donald L. Brown, and they were married Aug. 10, 1950, in Sioux City. Donald passed away on June 21, 2011 in Sioux City.

Bonnie worked for St. Joseph Hospital and at Wincharger for a few years and then was a homemaker taking care of her children. Years ago, she was active in St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Grade School while the kids were in school. Bonnie enjoyed shopping, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Linda Langseth (William) of South Sioux City, Terry Brown (Vicki) of Sioux City, and David Brown (Lynn) of Dakota Dunes; brother Jim Reed (Shirrel) of Sioux City; four grandchildren Heather Leininger (Steve), Don Langseth (Missy), Kerri Brown-Struthers (Marty) and Alyse Brown; and five great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; and nine brothers and sisters Eva, Pearl, Mark, Claude, Leo, Marvin, Charlie, Gene and Monica.
