Mrs. John (Esther) Foley, 85, of Cherokee died Sunday, January 13, 1985, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Cherokee Co. since 1942.

Services were held Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Ries officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Greenwood Funeral Home of Cherokee.

Esther S. Mann was born March 12, 1899, in Cushing, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Mann. On July 27, 1920, she married John S. Foley in Anthon.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons; William Foley of Quimby and Phillip Foley of Springfield, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Harm (Jean) Naber of Fort Dodge; three brothers, William Mann of Hornick, A.V. Mann of Union Mills, Indiana; and Richard Mann of Sabula; four sisters, Mrs. Mamie Jones of Correctionville, Mrs. Alice Robinson of Vacaville, California; Mrs. Anne Osborne of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mrs. Genevieve Heath of Anthon; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband on June 30, 1978, and one brother.
