Miss Anna Flemming, one of the members of the pioneer John Flemming family of Correctionville, passed away Thursday evening, January 29, 1948, at the home of her sister, Miss Clara Flemming, in Sioux City where she has resided since leaving this vicinity nine years ago.

She was born July 26, 1875, on the farm one mile northwest of Correctionville, and although afflicted from childhood with several ailments, endured heroically, she lived to the age of 72 ½ years.

On Saturday, January 31, 1948, the Requiem High Mass was sung at 8 a.m. by Rev. V.E. Kollasch of the Immaculate Conception parish of which she was a member. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon under direction of Larkin Funeral Home of Sioux City.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Mary Weber of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Agnes Fredrichs, and Miss Clara M. Flemming, both of Sioux City, two brothers, John of Spokane, Washington, and Paul of Correctionville and a host of nieces and nephews.
