Funeral services for John Fitzpatrick, 63, a resident of the Anthon community for more than 50 years, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. A. Conlon officiating. Mr. Fitzpatrick died Thursday evening at his home after a long illness.

Pallbearers were L.M. Foley, William Schrunk, Webb White, Frank Galvin, Mack Hughes and Jim Cunningham.

Burial was in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of Hudgel Funeral Home.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was born December 11, 1883, at Danbury and was married to Grace Elizabeth Dicus March 2, 1911. His illness first became apparent in November 1939, and February 23, 1940, he suffered a severe attack which left him invalid for the remainder of his life. He never rallied after a recurring attack the fifth of this month.

Survivors are the widow, Grace, four daughters, Mrs. Helen Scholtz of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, Mrs. Marguerite Flynn of Anthon, Mrs. Lucille Wetmore and Mrs. Frances Wildblood, both of Los Angeles, three sons, Daniel of Anthon, Wayne of Los Angeles, and James Edward with the armed forces stationed in Korea, two brothers, Thomas of Anthon and William of Chicago, two sisters, Mrs. Richard Kearney of Omaha and Mrs. John Schuh of Anthon, and nine grandchildren.
