12 December 1907

The death of Miss Katherine Margaret Eisenmenger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eisenmenger, south of town, occurred very suddenly last Wednesday afternoon. The young woman was ill but a short time but the dread disease, peritonitis, was too baffling for medical skill and although physicians from Sioux City and Anthon as well as Correctionville were called in consultation, nothing could be done to relieve the patient.

Miss Eisenmenger had gone to the home of her sister, Mrs. Edward Thayer, to care for the latter's children who were ill. It was there she was stricken with the fatal malady.

Deceased was born in Carson, Iowa, December 31, 1882. She had lived in this locality since she was 5 years old and was a popular young woman possessing the qualities which make for true womanhood.

The funeral was last Friday.
