Funeral services for Bernard J. "Ben" Eisenmenger, 70, who died of flu and complications Friday morning at the home of two sisters in Anthon, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. A.M. Conlon officiating the requiem high mass.

Pallbearers were six nephews: Jeffrey and Joseph O'Connell, Joseph and Bernard Thayer, Paul, Jr. and Alfred Eisenmenger.

Mass servers were two great nephews, Patrick and Michael O'Connell, and Jay Coyne. Burial was in Mt. St. Joseph's Cemetery under direction of Hudgel Funeral Home.

Mr. Eisenmenger was born October 26, 1879, near Peoria, Illinois, one of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eisenmenger. When Ben was one year old the family moved to a farm near Oto and he was 21 years of age when they moved again to a farm near Anthon.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Emma O'Connell, Mrs. Margaret Thayer and Teresa and Clara Eisenmenger, all of Anthon: and three brothers, Andrew P. Eisenmenger of Granville, Minnesota; Paul C. Eisenmenger, Sr. of Cherokee and Jacob J. Eisenmenger of Milbank, South Dakota.

A brother, Joseph, and a sister, Catherine Ann, preceded him in death.
