Mrs. John Curtin, 73, of Sioux City died at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Odoric Akwick officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Manning-O'Toole Funeral Home.

The former Marie E. McCarty, Mrs. Curtin was born May 19, 1897, in Sioux City. She left Sioux City with her parents as a child and resided in the Smithland community from 1921 to 1952. She returned to Sioux City in 1952. She married Mr. Curtin February 2, 1922, at Oto. He died August 7, 1946, in Smithland.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include a son, Raymond of Sioux Falls, and a daughter, Miss Helen Curtin of Sioux City; and seven grandchildren.
