Olive "Ollie" Rose Collins 1906 - 1977

Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Collins were held at 10 a.m. September 19, 1977, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. J.G. Skahill officiating.

Olive Rose Mohrhauser Collins was born at Ida Grove, December 17, 1906, the daughter of George and Lena (Olsen) Mohrhauser. She lived in the Danbury area until her marriage to Lewis Collins. After their marriage they farmed in the Oto-Anthon area.

Mr. and Mrs. Collins moved to Anthon and she lived in Anthon 13 ½ years. Mr. Collins passed away August 23, 1973.

Survivors include five sons, Donald of Napa, California; Norman of Sioux City; Phillip of Sioux City; Maurice of Anthon; and William of Pierson; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Marcene) Miller of Sioux City and Mrs. Ronald (Mary Ann) Ashby of Little Falls, Montana; seven brothers, George of Cresco, Iowa; Albert of Danbury; Emmett of Lake View; Bernard of Danbury; Richard of Washington; Ray of LeMars, and Charles of Pisgah; four sisters, Mrs. Ann Pithan of Danbury, Mrs. Jennie (Alfred) Shell of Sioux City; Mrs. Maggie (Aldon) Pallok of Tucson, Arizona; and Mrs. Bernadine Connor of Danbury, thirty-two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband and her parents.

Mrs. Collins belonged to the Women's Catholic Order of Forresters for 51 years, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, American Legion Auxiliary and the Anthon Community Club.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Walter Funeral Home.
