James Mackay, 80, 111 Stewart Avenue, died Saturday afternoon after being in poor health for about five years.

Mr. Mackay was born June 2, 1865 at Durnfries, Scotland, and came to the United States at the age of 19. He went to Geneva, N. Y., and later to Worthington, Minn., where he operated a furniture store until 1916 when he came to Sioux City. He was a salesman for a Minneapolis casket company, until retiring five years ago.

He was a past master of the Masonic lodge at Worthington, a member of Sioux City Landmark lodge, A. F. & A. M., Sioux City Consistory 5, and Abu-Bekr shrine.

Survivors are the widow, Matilda; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret M. Gent of Evanston, Ill.; a son, Allen C. of Marion, Ind.: two brothers, George of St. Paul, Minn., and John of Everett, wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Christensen of Hinckley, Minn., and Mrs. Margaret Harmar of Geneva, N. Y.; and five grandchildren.

The body was taken in Westcott-Doughty-Chandler funeral home.

Funeral services for James Mackay, 80, 111 Stewart Avenue, who died Saturday, will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Westcott-Doughty-Chandler funeral home. Rev. Theodore Lilley will officiate. Landmark lodge 103, A. F. & A. M. will conduct Masonic services. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be A. C. Maxwell, Willard Cunningham, Charles A. Hollenbeck, F. M. Walcott, William Finney and Glen Bixby.

Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. McLean, Charles Hoyt, J. J. Eimers, Fred A. Wood, Dr. H. P. White and W. F. Peter.
