A veteran of world war I, in which he served 15 months overseas with the 81st replacement division, Sigrud Anderson, 45, 2707 S. Glass Street died Friday night at his residence after a long illness.
He was born at Bergen, Norway, November 12, 1898, and came to the United States at the age of 14, locating at Fonda, la.
Mr. Anderson was married September 4, 1928, at Fonda to Hildagard Henrich of Fonda. Immediately after their marriage they came to Sioux City and for several years he was associated with the Smith Electrical works. He was a member of Morningside Presbyterian church, Monahan post 64, American Legion, and the 40 and 8.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Henrich and Harlyn, both of Sioux City: three brothers, Ole of Chicago, John of Fonda and Djarne of Bergen, Norway, and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Nelson of Chicago and Miss Anna Anderson and Mrs. Elesia Johanson, both of Bergen.
Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday in W. Harry Christie's chapel in Morningside. Rev. W. R. Moore will officiate. The body will be sent early Tuesday to Fonda, where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be in the Fonda cemetery.
