Funeral services were held for Mrs. Rebecca Wilson on Sunday, May 29, 1949, at 2 p.m. in the Pierson Methodist Church with Rev. H.E. Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery under direction of Dickison Funeral Home.

Pallbearers included five grandsons, Jack and John Minor, Howard and Dean Johns, Earl Solberg and Wayne Blackburn.

Rebecca Jane Wilson, daughter of William and Sarah Jane (Smith) Brittain was born in Halls, Missouri, November 2, 1868. In 1878 the Brittain family moved to western Kansas, settling in Osborn County at Bulls City, later renamed Alton. Here Mrs. Wilson grew to womanhood. May 4, 1890, she married William Joel Wilson. They made their first home in Beatrice, Nebraska, moving to Red Oak, Iowa one year later. They then returned to Osborne Co., Kansas, in 1892 where they resided until the latter part of 1909. At that time they moved to the new state of Oklahoma where five of her brothers and two sisters had been early settlers. In January 1914 the Wilson family came to rural Pierson. She was the mother of seven children, two sons, one of whom [William] died in infancy, and five daughters.

Survivors include her six children, Mrs. Rilla J. Mindenhall of Mutual, Oklahoma, Mrs. Cecile I. Minor of Omaha, Mrs. Aletha B. Nelson of Woodward, Oklahoma, Mrs. Beulah M. Stevens of Los Angeles, California, Roy Allen Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Opal J. Johns of Quimby, fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one brother, Harvey Brittain of Los Angeles, California.
