Brian Biggerstaff, 53, of Omaha and formerly of Sioux City went to his heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha surrounded by family and friends.

Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Brian was born on Dec. 11, 1968, in Sioux City to Jackie (Hill) and Ken Biggerstaff. Brian was always involved in sports. He participated in Westside Little League and American Legion baseball, Siouxland Youth Hockey, and BMX bicycle racing. He graduated from West High School in 1987. Brian won the Iowa High Hurdles State Champion in 1986 and 1987. He participated in football, baseball, and track at West. He went to South Dakota State University on a football and track scholarship and graduated from SDSU in 1992.

Brian married Debra Moes in 1993, and to that union two children were born, Rachael and Jason. He worked at Tyson in Dakota Dunes, moving to Omaha to work there. While living in Omaha he worked at several insurance agencies, later selling insurance at a car dealership in Omaha. He was currently employed by Raven Consulting.

He had many interests including working on his two special cars, biking, cooking, and tinkering around the house. Brian could repair most anything and was always there to help anyone who needed help. He had a Bernese Mountain dog that he loved and cared for.

He was so proud of his two children and tried to spend as much time with them as he could. In 2013 he met Judy Dubbeld and her two children Devaney and Ashton. Their relationship was very special, and she was always there for him.

Brian is survived by his children Rachael Vidler (Emily) of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Jason Biggerstaff of Valley City, N.D.; parents Ken and Jackie Biggerstaff of Sioux City; sister Barbara Young of Melbourne, Fla.; significant other Judy Dubbeld of Omaha; uncles Dr. Gary Hill (Julie) and Mike Borschuk (Jan) of Dakota Dunes, and Rick Borschuk (Nancy); nephew Trey Young; niece Danica Young; many cousins; and special childhood friend Scott Schultz.

Brian was an organ donor so his life continues to improve the quality of life in three others. He was a very kind and gentle man. He will be missed by many but especially his parents who he called almost every night and ended the call with "I love you."
