Lucille Lynn (Cardwell) Nelson passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at her home in Brunswick.

A Celebration of Lucy's Life is planned to be held next spring in Riverside Park.

Lucille was born to Melvin R. Cardwell and Marguerite A. Cardwell on Aug. 27, 1950. Lucy, as she preferred to be called, grew up in Sioux City and attended and graduated from Central High School. She was married to Gregg Webb, and they had two children from that union, Travis and Brandon. They later divorced. Several years later, she met and married Leonard Nelson, and a daughter, Jackie, was born into their family. If you asked her family and friends, they would tell you what a good and fun loving person she was. She enjoyed card games, especially cribbage and canasta, but bingo was her passion.

Lucy is survived by her son Brandon Webb and his wife Janice of Brunswick; daughter Jackie Schrunk and her husband Ben; siblings Janet Christensen, Nancy Scully, Kenneth Cardwell and his wife Vickie, Keith Cardwell and his wife Kathy, Georgia Rose, Penny Burmeister and her husband Ray, and Peggy Cardwell; grandchildren Timothy Schrunk, Ashley Welden, Jenna Tillman, and Justin Tillman; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Travis, who sadly died early in his childhood; husband, Leonard Nelson; parents Melvin and Marguerite Cardwell; sister Colleen Cardwell; and sister Lois Whitman.
