John M. Aspen, 66, 2806 S. Glass Street, a Sioux Cityan for 50 years, died Saturday at his home after an illness of nearly nine years.

Mr. Aspen was born August 6, 1881, in Oslo, Norway. He came with his parents to Sioux City at the age of 16. He was a member of the First Lutheran church.

He married Ellen Roose of Moville, la., August 15, 1908, at Minneapolis. Before his illness he had been employed by the Sioux City Gas and Electric Co. 37 years.

Survivors are the widow; two sons, John R. and Donald H., both of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Jensen and Mrs. Lois Hoffman, both of Porterville, Cal.: a sister. Mrs. Martha Swanson of Sioux City; two brothers, Peter of Hartington, Neb., and Edward J. of Bakersfield, Cal., and six grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Nelson-Berger funeral home.

Funeral services for John M. Aspen, 66, 2806 S. Glass Street, who died Saturday at his home, will be at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Nelson-Berger funeral home. Rev. O. B. Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Linsley, Charles Ajamy, James Dunn, Howard Prouty. Hans Poulsen and H.N. Labbitt H. N. Labbitt.
