Mary Alice (Bauer) Ibarra

Tishomingo, Okla., formerly Sioux City

On July 31, 2022, Mary Alice Ramona (Bauer) Ibarra, beloved aunt, sister, and daughter, passed away at the age of 93.

A graveside service was held on Friday, Aug. 5, at Teller Mountain Cemetery.

Mary was born on March 28, 1929, in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa, to Alvin Joseph Bauer and Mary Alice (Conger) Bauer. Mary was the third great-granddaughter of War Eagle, the great Sioux Chieftain. Mary traces her lineage to the famous chieftain by direct descent through her Mother Alice Conger, her grandparents Henry Cassious and Margaret Provost Conger, and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Julia Brughier.

Mary loved life, her cats, family, coffee, her motorcycle, white Chevy van and three-wheel bicycle in no specific order. Mary moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in the early 50s, living on Willowcrest Avenue in North Hollywood, and worked as a barber and commercial singer. She lived the California dream on for 38 years before retiring to Tishomingo, Johnston County, Okla.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Alice; father, Alvin and his wife Maxine; sister Caroline Trammell (Russell); and brother Alvin Jr.

Flowers or donations may be sent to 305 E Main St, Tishomingo, OK 73460.
