Barb was born May 18, 1935, in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Edwin and Ruth (Malm) Comstock. Barb grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School.

On Feb. 1, 1953, Barb married Don Small in Sioux City; he passed away January 23, 2017 in Sioux City.

Barb worked at Tollers Drug Store, the Sioux City Boat Club for many years, the Folk Art Magazine and then H & S Media until her retirement. Barb and Don enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved their yearly trips to the Colorado mountains. Barb was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing with the church choir, Treble Clef Singers, and harmonizing with her daughter while Robin played guitar. Barb loved her family dearly and time with her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was a sweet, kind-hearted, devoted wife and mother with a God-given gift of loving unconditionally. And, oh how she loved nature, feeding the deer and all her critters. Barb brought warmth and joy to everyone in her life and loved Jesus with all her heart.

She is survived by her son Dusty Small (Mary); daughter Robin Small; daughter-in-law Barb Small, all of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and fur baby grandkids at home Coco and Tigger.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; and son Rick Small; and fur-baby Sugar.
