She married Art Grabe on June 20, 1998, at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville, Iowa. Maroldine and Art farmed until he passed away Dec. 5, 2010. Following his passing Maroldine continued to live in the Kingsley and Sioux City area until moving to Bickford Cottage in Sioux City.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Christine) Armstrong of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Todd Armstrong of Sioux Falls, S.D.; nine grandchildren; stepsons, Dan (Lynn) Irwin of Pierson, Brad (Deanna) Grabe of Perham, Minn., and Mike (Julie) Grabe of Kingsley; stepdaughter, Jill Gollhofer (friend Doug Willert) of Ellendale, Minn.; eight step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
