Claude H. Renneker was born October 8, 1885, in Mills Co., near Silver City, Iowa, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Renneker of the Anthon community. In March 1911 he married Miss Alice Campbell of the Oto community, and to this union three children were born. All of them died in infancy. In 1925 they adopted a baby girl, Dessa Pearl.

Mrs. Renneker passed away in December 1928. On February 1, 1933, he married Miss Doris Dicks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Dicks of Anthon.

His wife, his adopted daughter, four sisters, Mrs. Edward Seitel of Chino, California; Mrs. Robert Foster of Moville; Mrs. Gertrude Davis of Anthon; and Mrs. C.L. Ditto of Winterset, Iowa, other relatives and friends are left to mourn his departure.

Mr. Renneker suffered for many years from poor health, but always had a cheerful spirit in his contact with other people. During the last month he was under the doctor's care and on the last day of January he became seriously ill. Wednesday morning, February 5, he was taken to the hospital at Sioux City where he passed away at 10 p.m. that evening.

Originally funeral services were scheduled to be held Saturday but they were postponed until Tuesday afternoon when the last rites were held in the Hudgel Funeral Home. Rev. J.H. Machlan of Rockwell City, who acted as pastor of the Anthon Christian Church until a short time ago, preached the appropriate sermon. Because of the blocked roads it was not possible to inter the remains at Bethel Cemetery, Piero, Tuesday. However the burial took place today under direction of Hudgel's Funeral Service.
