Alice Pearl, eldest daughter of Charles G. and Celia Ethel (Leach) Campbell, was born near Charter Oak, Iowa, January 20, 1891, and died at her home near Oto December 23, 1927. At the age of four years she with her parents moved to the farm in Grant Twp. which has ever since been the Campbell home. At an early age she united with the Bethel Church at Piero of which she was a faithful member at the time of her death.

On March 15, 1911, she was united in marriage to Claude H. Renneker of Lucky Valley. They have resided in Grant Township since with the exception of eight years which were spent at Red Oak, Iowa, Wayne and Stanton, Nebraska, while Mr. Renneker was in the hardware business.

To this union three children, two daughters and one son were born, all of whom died in infancy. Alice was of a sweet and unselfish disposition, never sparing herself to make the home bright and happy. She was a devoted wife and her mother instinct was so great that they took into their home a baby girl, whom they loved as their very own.

Alice contracted a cold two weeks ago which developed into pneumonia, and all that loving hands and medical skill could do, were to no avail. On Friday, December 23, 1927, she passed peacefully away. Alice was beloved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed in this community.

Besides her husband and adopted daughter, Pearl, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Campbell, four sisters, Mrs. Lorena Fuller, Mrs. Goldie Hannan, Mrs. Ruby Hill, and Miss Helen; three brothers, Ray, Homer and Marvin.

The funeral arrangements were in charge of R. Hudgel, the Anthon funeral director.
