Young Mother Dies Leaving 11-Day-Old Babe

Mrs. Rose Downey, wife of Arthur Downey, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shever died Monday of last week after suffering from a complication of diseases. The funeral was held last Thursday at Bethel church conducted by Rev. R. D. Acheson and interment took place there.

Deceased was well known in this vicinity having grown to womanhood here. The entire community extend their sympathy to the grieved ones in this great loss of wife and mother. A husband and three small children survive her.

Out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral were, Oren Downey of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. C. Ashmore of Sioux City, and Mr. Shever from the eastern part of the state.

Rose Ella Shever was born in Woodbury County, March 14, 1884, she grew to womanhood in the community.

July 15, 1903, she was married to Arthur Downey. To this union four children have been born, two daughters and two sons, the oldest daughter dying when an infant.

The surviving children are a daughter, 4 years old, one son 3 years old and an infant son eleven days old.

Besides the husband she leaves father and mother, three sisters and six brothers to mourn her loss.
