Kathelene J. "Kathy" Wieseler, 77, died Saturday, May 7, 2022, at her residence in Sioux City.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Mater Dei Parish-Church of the Nativity, 4242 Natalia Way, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Kathelene Jo "Kathy" Hanna, the daughter of John and Frances (Skaff) Hanna, was born June 12, 1944, in Sioux City. She graduated from East High School in 1962. Kathy was first employed at Sioux Tools.

On Nov. 12, 1966, Kathy was united in marriage with Melvin Wieseler at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She worked as a clerk at Sears until her retirement in 2014. The family also ran a cleaning service that was contracted with Westrock, which continued for almost 40 years.

Kathy was an active member of Mater Dei Parish-Church of the Nativity, the Nativity Women's Guild, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Mel of Sioux City; three children, Brian of Sioux City, Cheraine (Daniel) Bromander of Sloan, Iowa, and Doug of Sioux City; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Marge) Hanna of La Quinta, Calif., and Don (Gina) Hanna of Sioux City; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Cownie and Shirley Gill; and brother, John Hanna.
