Christ Margellos, 86, of Sioux City died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Evangelos Pepps officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present after 6 p.m. and a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at Anderson--Perasso Funeral Home.

Mr. Margellos was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Lidoriki, Greece, the son of Efthimios and Konstandina (Lakafosis) Margellos. He was raised in Lidoriki.

He married Alexandra Kolssa in 1943, in Lidoriki. He owned his own business before moving to Sioux City in 1966. He was then employed with Boyers.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Tim and Dimitra of Sioux City; four daughters, Kiki and her husband, Alex Karras of Sioux City, Dena and her husband. Bill Angellos of Chicago, Teta and her husband, John Chionos of Clearwater, Fla., and Anna Margellos of Chicago; two sisters, Vasiliki Georgousopoulos of Greece, and Kalliope Xukis of San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, John and Dean Karras, Vickie, Alexandra and Dino Angellos, Chris and Bill Margellos, Dino and Katerina Chionos and Nicole and Gregory Andersen; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris and Bill Margellos, Dino Chionos, Dino Angellos, Gregory Andersen and John Karras.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
