DANBURY, Neb. - Rudy D. Wegher, 68, of Danbury died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at his home.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Neb.

Mr. Wegher was born July 18, 1932, in New Castle, Wyo., the son of Albert P. and Mae S. (Rothman) Wegher. His parents were homesteaders in Wyoming until they moved to Sioux City just prior to World War II. He graduated from East High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include four sons, Brent Wegher of Casper, Wyo., Joel Wegher of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robin Wegher of Germany, and Peter Wegher of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Kenny Wegher of Yankton, S.D., and Albert Jr. "Buddy" Wegher of Jefferson, S.D.; six sisters, Darken McLaughlin of Ames, Iowa, Joyce Murphy of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Betty Burke, Janet Lemay and Barbara Schwartz, all at Colorado Springs, Colo., and Judy Culver of Sioux City; and three grandchildren.
