Valentine Otto Walker, 67, Pierson, a resident there 14 years, died late Monday night at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pierson Methodist Church. The Rev. Maurice Gunn will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of the Dickinson -Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley, Iowa.

Mr. Walker was born Oct. 27, 1898, at Sterling, Neb. He married Katherine Esau at Petersburg, Neb. She died in 1950. He then married Pauline L. Haupt on Nov. 27, 1951, at Hiawatha, Kan.

He farmed near Albion, Neb for many years before moving to Pierson.

Survivors include the widow, four daughters, six sons, two step-daughters, three brothers, a sister, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
