PIERSON WOMAN IS DEAD AT 96

Fall Six Days Ago Fatal to Mrs. Charlotte E. Scott

Pierson, - la. - Special: Mrs. Charlotte Elizabeth Scott, 96, oldest resident here was buried Wednesday in the Pierson cemetery. Her death followed an illness of six days resulting from injuries received from a fall last week.

Charlotte Elizabeth Wilson- was born near Mount Carroll, Ill., November 15, 1845. She came to Tama County, with her parents in 1867 and was married to J. Scott October 16, 1867. Five Children survive. They are Mrs. C. J. Lancaster of Burbank, Cal.; Mrs. R. E. Messerole of Clark, S. D., Mrs. G. H. Hatfield of Pierson, Charles of Correctionville and William of Cherokee, la.

Mrs. Scott came to Pierson April 4, 1887 and resided here until her husband passed away on January 18 1913. On January 17, 1919, her house and part of its contents burned and since she had lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Hatfield.

She joined the Methodist church at the age of 27 and had been a member of that organization since. She was also a charter member of the Pierson Ladies aid society.

Funeral services for Mrs. Scott were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church with Rev. H. E. Hutchinson in charge.

Mrs. Scott's obituary was writtend by her a few weeks ago.
