Longtime Farmer Near Pierson Passes Away

Samuel Fryer, 86, a retired farmer and a resident near Pierson for the last 58 years, died Saturday after an extended illness in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Flossie Roberts near Pierson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, this afternoon in the Rock Branch church. Rev. H. H. Wingert, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Branch cemetery under the direction of the Derby-Dickinson funeral home at Kingsley.

Mr. Fryer was born March 23, 1853, in Center County, Pa. He moved to a farm near Pierson in 1882.

Surviving, besides Mrs. Roberts, are four sons, Al of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Harry of Newcastle, Wyo.; Miller of Woodburn, Ore., end Hyrtle of Sergeant Bluff, and three daughters, Mrs. Ray Jones and Mrs. Arthur Lott, both of Fort Dodge, and Miss Ella Fryer of near Pierson.
