MRS. SUSAN H. FLORKE

CORRECTIONVILLE, Ia. Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Susan H. Florke, 62, of Pierson, Ia., who died early Saturday morning at her residence after a brief illness, will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Pierson Methodist church. Rev. Merlin C. Davies will officiate, and burial will be in Fairfield cemetery at Rock Branch, Ia., under the direction of the Wilson-Hull, funeral home of Correctionville.

Mrs. Florke was born August 23, 1899, at Stockton, Ill., and moved to the Pierson community 48 years ago.

Survivors include the widower, Finn, and many other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Hattie Florke, 62, of Pierson, who died early Saturday morning at her residence after a brief illness, were held Tuesday, October 10, at 2:00 p. m. in the Pierson Methodist Church. Rev. Merlin C. Davies officiated.

Mrs. Dale Nafe played "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Beyond the Sunset" on the organ. Pallbearer were Leo Farber, Guy Brown, Ralph DeLambert, Earl Winslow, Bill McCall and Hurby Hansen. Mrs. Fern Ericson and Alan Irwin cared for the flowers and Carl Rischen arranged the cars.

Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch under the direction of the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home.

Susan Florke was born August 23, 1899 to Robert and Elizabeth Stearns at Stockton, III, and moved to the Pierson community 48 years ago. She graduated from high school in 1918 and married Finn H. Florke of Pierson at Vinton, Iowa, in October 1944. She was a member of the Pierson Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Survivors include the widower, Finn; a stepdaughter, Emma (Mrs. Vernon Weinreich); two step grandchildren; a brother, William Spencer Stearns of Hurley, Wisc.; a niece, Mrs. Fred Sylvester and other relatives.
