ANTHON, Iowa -- Ray Edward Fixsel, 66, of Anthon died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Rock Branch United Methodist Church, rural Correctionville. The Rev. Edward Schaller will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. today in the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Fixsel was born Oct. 12, 1916, near Anthon and graduated from Anthon High School in 1933. He was a lifelong Anthon and Rock Branch area farmer.

He married Margaret Rath Dec. 12, 1937, at Pierson.

He was an active member of Rock Branch United Methodist Church where he served as trustee. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Correctionville Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry of Anthon, Ronald of Lawton and Dennis of Crooks, S.D.; one brother, Lewis of Pierson; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Brune of Correctionville and Mrs. Ada Denlinger of Pierson and five grandchildren.
