MRS. LLOYD VARNER, 48, Spirit Lake, Iowa -- Died May 16 hospital in Spirit Lake. Funeral 2 p.m. May 19 United Church of Christ at Pierson. Burial, Rock Branch Cemetery, rural Pierson, Gaudian Funeral Home of Paullina.

Former Frances Hatfield born Oct. 28, 1922, Grand Meadow Township, Woodbury County. Graduated from Pierson High School 1940. Married to Wilbur Duncanson March 1942, He died April, 1955.

Married to Mr. Varner March 1956, at Audubon.

Member Methodist Churches at Paullina and Spirit Lake. Member of Rebekah Lodge; the L.E.A. Was president of Lamp Patriarch Militant Group. Awarded the decoration of chivalry in July 1968, at Clear Lake, Iowa.

Survivors: widower; seven sons, Jerry, Randy, Donnie and Stevie Varner, all at home, Russell and Daryl Duncanson of Sheldon, Tom Duncanson of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Rita) Richter of Paullina and Mrs. Terrie A (Margie) Edwards of Dallas: three stepchildren; four grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
