Linda Marie Bueoy, 66, of Smithland, Iowa passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Maple Heights Nursing Home, Mapleton, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. A luncheon will occur at the Smithland United Methodist Church basement in Smithland, Iowa following the burial. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 21, 2021 with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Linda Marie was born October 1, 1955 in Nemaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry Dillard and Helen Louise (Martin) Routon. She grew up and attended school in Whiting, Iowa and later obtained her GED in 1984.

Linda and John Robert Bueoy were united into marriage April 8, 1972 in Onawa, Iowa. To this union two children were born, John and Shane.

Linda worked for Aalfs Manufacturing Company in Sioux City, Iowa for ten years, where she sewed zippers on to the jeans. She also worked for Embassy Nursing home in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa for two years. Linda was a great mom to her children.

She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola items and all kinds of keychains. She loved horses and enjoyed sewing. Linda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her dog, Maggie’s, company.

Survivors include her husband, John Robert Bueoy of Smithland, Iowa; her son, John Martin (Dana) Bueoy of Whiting, Iowa; grandchildren, Shane Ryan Bueoy of Whiting, Iowa, Zoey Marie Bueoy of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and Caden John Bueoy of Whiting, Iowa; two sisters, Barbara Mortenson of Chariton, Iowa, and Margie (Ralph) Bowen of Atchison, Kansas; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Barb) Routon of Monroe, Iowa, and Kenneth “Ken” (Romi) Routon of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; her dog companion, Maggie; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen (Martin) Routon; her son, Shane Robert Bueoy; and one sister, Harriett Sue Catlett.
