CHAS. CROXELL LOSES HIS WIFE

Mrs. Charles Croxell, Who Has Been In Poor Health For Nearly a Year, Died Thursday Morning

Addle Downing was born near Wolstock, Iowa, September 2, 1866, and was the oldest of a family of six.

April 1, 1891, she was married to Charles Croxell at Ida Grove, and they began housekeeping on a farm near Anthon.

To them were born four children, three boys and one girl, one of whom died in infancy. The others, Mrs. Edward Boettger, and Doc Croxell of Correctionville, and Ivan, of Anthon, with her husband and nine grandchildren survive her, as do also her four brother, George and James Downing, at Moville, William, of Goodell, Iowa, and Charles, of Colorado, one sister, Mrs. Dollie Blackford, of Point Orchard, Wash., and a half sister, Mrs. Mary Claude, of Wisconsin.

Since the family moved to town six years ago, Mrs. Croxell has enjoyed normal health until about a year ago last May when she suffered a stroke. A week ago last Sunday she and Mr. Croxell went to the home of their son, Ivan, near Anthon, and after taking dinner, apparently in her usual health, she was suddenly affected by another stroke, which took consciousness from her, and she remained in that condition until Thursday when she passed away, at the age of sixty-two years, one month and twenty-two days.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. A. Kettle, and burial was made in the family lot of the Rock Branch cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Downing, of Webster City; Charles Downing, of Akron, Colo.; Mrs. Belle Anderson and Mrs. Ada Witt, of Sac City; Mr. and Mrs. George Downing, Mr. and Mrs. James Downing, Mr. and Mrs. Georgie Blackford, Mr. and Mrs. John Blackford, of Moville; Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Mapleton, and Mrs. Jennie Claude of Wolstock, Iowa.
