Frederick "Fred" Clausen 1884 - 1978

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Clausen were held Thursday, February 16, 1978, at 10:30 a.m. from the Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald Ressert officiating. Mr. Clausen died Monday, February 13, 1978, at the age of 93. Interment was in Rock Branch Cemetery, rural Correctionville, with the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clausen, the son of Fredrich and Schona (Ruess) Clausen, was born in Germany September 18, 1884. He came to the United States at the age of 16. On March 12, 1907, he was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Ruess at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He lived and farmed most of his life in the Correctionville and Anthon communities.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville. For the past several years he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Herb Althaus at Kingsley.

Survivors include his wife, Wilhelmina, one son, William of Anthon, one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Florence) Althaus of Kingsley, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William of Oroville, California, two sisters, Mrs. Fredia Johnson of Lemon, South Dakota, and Mrs. Minnie Wiessinger of Shade Hills, South Dakota, and one son, Emil.
