Emil Clausen, 50, a resident of the Pierson area since 1944, died at home in Pierson Wednesday afternoon following a long illness.

Mr. Clausen was born February 3, 1913, at Anthon, Ia., moved near Pierson in 1944, and resided in town since 1956. He was a member of Salem Lutheran church near Correctionville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran church. Rev. Henry Prieb will officiate, and burial will be in the Rock Branch cemetery near Correctionville.

Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clausen of Pierson; a brother, William of Correctionville and a sister, Mrs. Florence Althaus of rural Pierson.

The body was taken to the Dickison funeral home at Kingsley, Ia.
