Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Black, 56, of the Pierson vicinity, who died Thursday at a hospital after a long illness, will be at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at Meadow Star church near Washta, la. Rev. Ray Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Branch cemetery near Anthon under direction of the Dickison funeral home of Kingsley, la.

Mrs. Black was born at Anthon February 12, 1903. She was married to Claude Black October 17, 1918. They farmed in the Anthon and Danbury areas until moving to a farm in the Pierson vicinity in 1944. Mr. Black died in 1958.

Survivors include a son Lloyd of Buffalo, N. Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Avis Dinent of Anthon and Mrs. Dorothy Irwin of Washta; a brother, Walter Short of Bronson, and six grandchildren.
