John Henry Bennett, 83, who lived with his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Olsen, 822 Main St., for 25 years, died Saturday morning at the residence after a long illness.

Mr. Bennett was born Dec. 18, 1883, at Rock Branch, Iowa. He farmed in the Rock Branch area a number of years before coming to Sioux City.

He is survived by a brother, Louis of Hinton, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Olsen, Mrs. Kathryn Elliott of Kerkoven, Minn. and Mrs. Mary Justi of Litchfield, Minn.

The body was taken to the Manning-O'Toole Funeral Home.

Funeral services for John Henry Bennett, 83, 822 Main St., were held Monday at the Manning - O'Toole Funeral Home. Brig. J. E. LaLone of the Salvation Army officiated. Burial was in the Rock Branch Cemetery.

Pallbearers were nephews.

Mr. Bennett died Saturday morning at the home of his sister, where he had resided for 25 years, after a long illness.
